The Retirement Plans Underwriting Department has an immediate opening for Pension Risk Annuity Specialist who will facilitate the onboarding of new institutional retirement income annuities primarily in the Pension Risk Transfer market.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications) 
    • Senior Annuity Underwriter: $68,000-$78,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • Advanced Annuity Underwriter: $86,000-$95,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Work with the Plan Representatives, brokers and/or TPA’s to gather the annuitant data required to set up annuitants in our administrative system for sold PRT cases.
  • Conducts research in order to secure additional data needed to make determinations on benefits and pricing.
  • Communicates with contract holders, brokers, agencies, and/or other sources concerning underwriting guidelines, decisions and procedures.
  • Develops and maintains a good working relationship and rapport with external wholesalers, brokers, consultants, and other internal and external business partners.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Seasoned knowledge and expertise with retirement plans, products, design, administration and regulatory requirements.  Familiarity with a variety of underwriting concepts, practices and procedures and the ability to creatively apply them
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions using sound and logical reasoning.
  • Attention to detail with strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Financial aptitude for understanding pricing strategies and their potential impact on financial results.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or 4-7 years of annuity underwriting experience.
