Mutual of Omaha looking for a strategic and driven Talent Acquisition HR Consultant to lead efforts and a team of recruiting professionals. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert — partnering closely with hiring managers and business partners to understand talent needs, design effective recruiting solutions, and deliver results. You will lead, coach, and develop direct reports, fostering a high-performing team grounded in company values. From sourcing and interviewing to building and analyzing workforce metrics, you will manage the full recruiting lifecycle while ensuring compliance and operational excellence. This role will help the TA leadership team set the strategic vision and execute on priority initiatives, with a focus on continuous improvement in alignment with the company's mission, vision, and values.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary: $100,000 - $135,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead and manage the full talent acquisition function for assigned business areas — designing, implementing, and continuously improving programs, processes, and systems that meet business needs and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to internal and external business partners, providing counsel on TA strategy, daily policies, and complex recruiting scenarios while exercising discretion with confidential information.
  • Lead, coach, and oversee direct reports, developing a high-performing team aligned with company values and cultural expectations.
  • Source, recruit, screen, and interview for specialized and key positions, developing targeted strategies for some high-volume and hard-to-fill roles that account for market and environmental factors.
  • Handle complex recruiting scenarios with candidates and hiring managers independently, and analyze TA metrics and surveys to drive continuous improvement in operations.
  • Participate in Talent Acquisition initiatives, project teams, and process improvement efforts, while aligning all work to the Enterprise Mission, Vision, and Strategy and modeling company values and leadership expectations.

  • Deep expertise in HR and talent acquisition functions — including recruitment, compliance, and talent management — with the ability to translate that knowledge into practical solutions.
  • A natural relationship-builder and communicator who can influence business partners, present data-driven recommendations, and earn trust across all levels of the organization.
  • Analytically minded with a track record of using recruiting metrics and insights to continuously improve processes and outcomes.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities with composure while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Proficient with HR and recruiting systems, committed to inclusive hiring practices, and set up to work and manage effectively in a remote environment.

  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
