We're looking for an Actuarial Analyst (I, II, or Lead depending on experience) to support financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and research initiatives that help drive business performance and strategic decision-making. Please note that the Actuarial Analyst role is not part of Mutual of Omaha's Actuarial Student Program and will not offer actuarial exam support.  

While we are open to remote candidates, a strong preference will be given to candidates within a reasonable driving distance of our home office in Omaha, NE to allow for occasional in-office collaboration.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Compensation (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications):
    • Actuarial Analyst I: $59,800 - $76,180, plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • Actuarial Analyst II: $68,000 - $87,500, plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • Lead Actuarial Analyst:  $86,000 - $114,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, assess performance, and provide recommendations to business leaders.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain actuarial models, reports, forecasts, and projections used in product management and business planning.
  • Support product pricing, profitability analysis, and other actuarial research initiatives.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports, presentations, and analyses for customers, management and business partners.
  • Participate in special projects and collaborate across teams to evaluate business opportunities, process improvements, and financial impacts.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 2+ years of actuarial, financial analysis, or related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large datasets.
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and respond to customer inquiries with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • You promote a collaborative culture, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with SQL or other data querying tools.
  • Exposure to investments, banking, pension risk transfer (PRT), or related financial services areas.
  • Experience building financial models, forecasts, or management reporting.
