IS Agile Project Manager I

Workplace Solutions Integration ART

We are seeking a collaborative, detail oriented IS Agile Project Manager I to join our Workplace Solutions Integration Agile Release Train (ART). This role is a strong fit for a project management professional who wants hands-on ownership of Agile delivery and room to grow into a multi-team leadership track.

As a member of the Workplace Solutions Integration ART, you will manage one team with the opportunity to grow into supporting two teams as demand increases. The team is responsible for building scalable applications that power our third-party benefit administrator partnerships through the enablement of different business capabilities that leverage an API and Event-Driven Architecture. This work sits at the foundation of the experience layer capabilities used across the business, and its new build, not legacy maintenance.

This role will partner closely with the team's Product Owner and Solution Lead, engineers, business analysts, and peer Agile Project Managers to keep delivery on track, manage dependencies, and remove blockers, while helping Workplace Solutions accelerate its API integration capabilities within group insurance market.

We're looking for someone who can engage with the underlying technology (Spring Boot, AWS, and MuleSoft applications) well enough to ask informed questions in stand-ups, understand how systems connect, and effectively manage cross-team dependencies.

If you're energized by hands-on Agile delivery, cross-functional collaboration, and helping build new integration capabilities from the ground up, we encourage you to apply.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary: Project Manager I: $100k - $120k, plus annual bonus.
  • 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Work-life balance with vacation, personal time and paid holidays. See our benefits and perks page for details.
  • Primarily remote, with periodic onsite collaboration for quarterly 2-day PI (Program Increment) planning events, plus occasional 2-day team-building sessions.
  • A local candidate is preferred but not required. This role can be fully remote for the right candidate.
  • Applicants for this position must not now, nor at any point in the future, require sponsorship for employment including OPT.

This role is classified as remote; however, periodic in-person attendance will be required at times for activities such as quarterly or project planning, training, or other business-critical meetings

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Manage day to day Agile delivery for one team on the Workplace Solutions Integration ART, with the opportunity to take on a second team as the team grows.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and quarterly PI (Program Increment) planning events, and support in-person team-building sessions.
  • Track story and sprint progress throughout the day, proactively surfacing risks and delays that could impact timelines.
  • Identify and help remove blockers, working through cross-team dependencies with other teams on the Integration ART.
  • Facilitate deployment and change management conversations, ensuring the team is prepared for code releases.
  • Build a strong working relationship with the team's Product Owner and Solution Lead.
  • Ask informed, technically grounded questions during ceremonies to drive clarity on story and task status.
  • Leverage AI tools where applicable to support project management work as adoption grows across the organization.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 5+ years of Agile/Project Management experience.
  • Working understanding Spring Boot, AWS, and MuleSoft applications — enough to understand how systems connect and ask informed questions during ceremonies.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including SharePoint and Teams.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills, with a track record of driving accountability and removing blockers.
  • Proven ability to build relationships across both technical and business stakeholders — Product Owners, Solution Leads, developers, and business analysts.
  • Experience with SAFe or scaled Agile practices, including PI Planning.
  • Able to work remotely, with the ability to travel onsite for quarterly 2-day PI planning events and occasional team-building sessions.

PREFERRED:

  • 5+ years (8+ preferred) of Agile/Project Management experience.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe, Scrum Master, or similar Agile/project management certification.
  • Located near the Mutual of Omaha office.
  • Prior experience supporting engineering teams focused on API and event-driven integrations.

We value diverse experience, skills, and passion for innovation. If your experience aligns with the listed requirements, please apply!
