Our Investment Operations team runs the middle office for Mutual of Omaha's investment portfolio — the connection point between the front office, accounting, data, technology, custodians, and counterparties. This senior seat on the Trade Management Services team runs the operational lifecycle for the derivatives platform: OTC products today, with cleared derivatives and exchange-traded futures coming as the program grows. It's an ownership role for someone who can run day-to-day derivative operations, serve as the escalation point for post trade processes including complex margin and settlement issues, and help design the processes and controls that let this work scale. For the right person, there's room to grow into a lead role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Own the operational lifecycle for OTC derivatives — booking, confirmation, settlement, and lifecycle events (resets, novations, terminations) — coordinating with trading, counterparties, and custodians.
- Manage daily margin and collateral: margin call response and issuance, movement of cash and securities, and dispute resolution, working from ISDA, CSA, and related trading agreements across legal entities and counterparties.
- Reconcile cash and exposure data between investment management systems and custodian / counterparty records; identify and resolve margin and trade breaks cleanly and on time.
- Help build out the operating model as the program scales and expands to cleared derivatives and exchange-traded products including futures — shaping processes, controls, and system readiness ahead of go-live.
- Maintain the accuracy of derivative and complex-instrument data in the security master, and support data governance across the Snowflake and Sigma environments.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and escalation point; drive standardization, automation, and root-cause fixes (including AI-assisted tooling), and partner with accounting, compliance, and risk to stay aligned with internal controls and regulatory requirements (NAIC, SEC, FINRA).

|
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- 5+ years in investment operations, middle office, or trade support, with real depth in derivatives operations.
- Strong command of the derivatives lifecycle and collateral mechanics across derivatives products including swaps, FX, futures, and options — and the operational controls between front office, middle office and accounting.
- Proven ownership of complex, non-standard work; investigates root causes and drives issues to resolution independently. Ability to work on time sensitive tasks supporting Trading and Portfolio Management teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence across teams and lead through expertise.
- Strong desire to leverage technology to automate, improve internal controls and optimize post trading workflows
- Ability to work remotely with reliable high-speed internet access while residing in the United States or Puerto Rico.
PREFERRED:
- Collateral and margin experience (ISDA/CSA administration, tri-party or bilateral collateral) and reconciliation tooling; interest in cleared derivatives and futures operations.
- Insurance or statutory investment-operations background, and familiarity with NAIC, SEC, and FINRA operational and reporting requirements.
- Exposure to Bloomberg AIM, Aladdin, Charles River or other trading platforms; interest in automation platform & tooling (Snowflake, Sigma, Python, VBA, SQL).
- Interest in AI-driven process enhancement and data-quality validation.
- Quantitative valuation risk and analytics, asset valuation policy owner skillset or cash flow modelling exposure
- Bachelor's in economics, finance, accounting, data analytics, or a related field.
