EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
DIVER
$30.04 per hour | Part Time
6 Months Fixed Term

The opportunity:
The Marine Sciences department is currently inviting expressions of interest from current Divers who have the appropriate qualifications for a 6-month Part Time opportunity. Please note this is an expression of interest only and any applications will be discussed directly with your supervisor for feedback.

Your day to day:
• Your primary area of responsibility will be working with the Dive Maintenance Team throughout VRTP properties.
• Providing assistance with dive, snorkel tours and animal adventure tours
• Maintenance and cleaning in animal pools and exhibits
• Support aquarist team with husbandry tasks as required
• Underwater inspection, dredging, maintenance
• Maintaining commercial diving equipment
• Participate in external dive environments for research rescue and conservation

What you’ll bring:
• Minimum ADAS Part 1 Commercial Diver (ADAS Part 2 is preferred)
• Commercial diving medical certification (AS2299)is essential
• Current First Aid Certificate is essential
• Current O2 Provider or advanced resuscitation is essential
• Experience in dry suit diving and cold water environments
• Drivers License
• Must have or be willing to get a recreational boat license
• Knowledge of marine animals and their environment beneficial
• Must be physically fit with a high level of motivation and commitment
• Worksite safety and adhering strictly to risk assessment and workplace health and safety guidelines
• Good written skills, record keeping and the ability to use online forms and tools
• Must be available to work on any day, including weekends
