About the role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to step into a Duty Manager position at Hobart Village Cinemas!

Reporting to the General Manager and Service Operations Manager, the Duty Manager oversees the daily operations of the cinema. From the moment guests arrive, you’ll model exceptional customer service and guide the team in delivering operational excellence.

Working closely with the site senior leadership team, you’ll ensure our guest-centric vision and values are consistently represented in all processes and communications.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure exceptional guest experience and smooth front-of-house operations.
• Train, coach, and develop team members in Service Steps.
• Motivate the team to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent service.
• Supervise daily tasks and manage rosters efficiently.
• Maintain venue cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Monitor on-screen presentation quality and handle customer disputes.
• Perform cash handling, end-of-shift reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with OHS, security, and food safety standards.
• Oversee venue opening, closing, and stock movement recording.

What You’ll Bring:

• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Commitment to guest experience and team development.
• Proven track record in driving sales and managing operations.
• Effective problem-solving and dispute resolution skills.
• Knowledge of compliance requirements and flexibility with rosters.

Beneficial skills (not essential):

• Previous experience in customer service or hospitality
• Level 2 First Aid Certificate
