The Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG) provides Catholic education in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and New South Wales (NSW).
CECG covers 88,000 square kilometres across the ACT and in NSW spans from Pambula in the south, Crookwell in the north and to the western point of Lake Cargelligo.
CECG operates 56 schools and nine early learning centres, is responsible for educating over 22,000 students and employs over 4,000 professionals.
The Catholic Education Office within CECG delivers professional and corporate services through its Service Areas, including the Office of the Executive Director, Office of the Deputy Director, Catholic Identity, Teaching and Learning, School and Family Services, Strategy and Projects, Information Communication Technology, Finance, People and Culture.
About the Role
The School Performance and Development Leader (previously known as Performance and Improvement Leader) has strategic oversight and line management of a network of schools and the Principals within that network. In partnership with the Executive Leadership Team, is responsible for:
- Ensuring a lived commitment to the mission of Catholic education within schools in the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn.
- Ensuring school alignment with the strategic directions of CECG.
- Ensuring effective school governance to meet regulatory and compliance obligations.
- Building the leadership capability of Principals and their leadership teams through leadership coaching, strategic guidance, targeted support, and accountability structures that drive sustained improvement.
- Activating the partnership with the Executive Leadership Team through communication of school context matters to guide targeted resourcing and policy and reporting on school quality and performance.
- Ensuring alignment of schools to system wide policies and processes.
- Analysing data from various sources, including student, enrolment, staffing and financial, to develop strategies for short-term and long-term sustainability.
The School Performance and Development Leader, in partnership with the Executive Leadership Team, has specific responsibility for:
