About the Role

The Religious Education Coordinator is a specialist and senior role and is key to embedding and building a vibrant Catholic culture in the College. The College is seeking a person who is committed to the vision of the College ‘Living the truth, leading with courage, learning for life’ and is invested in and will promote the apostolic mission of the Church and of Catholic education. The successful applicant will be a practising Catholic and experienced educator, will have demonstrated successful experience as a teacher of Religious Education 7 -12 and who will possess initiative, integrity and vision.

The Religious Education Coordinator will provide expert advice and leadership in Religious Education curriculum and pedagogical practice and will through their role contribute to the development of an accessible and vibrant faith community in the College. As a member of the Curriculum Leadership team, the Religious Education Coordinator will also be an interim member of the Executive and report to the Principal in realising the vision and mission of the College.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master in Teaching.
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
  • Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration. 

To teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (to be a Religious Education Teacher), a teacher must: 

  • Be Catholic; 
  • Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest; and 
  • Have completed or be due to complete Accreditation D – Teach Religious Education in a Catholic school in accordance with the Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Catholic Education, Canberra and Goulburn Policy.
