About the Role 

The Student Welfare Officer plays a vital role in supporting the well-being of students by providing pastoral care services and fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment. Working closely with the Principal and broader school community, the Student Welfare Officer implements wellbeing strategies, accompanies students on excursions, and coordinates volunteer activities that strengthen connections between students and their communities. They also engage with families through workshops and meetings, contributing to a whole-school approach to student care. This position is well-suited to someone with a strong understanding of social and emotional development in children, a passion for supporting young people, and the ability to respond with empathy and creativity to diverse needs.

Qualifications 

  • Completed Certificate IV Youth Work; or
  • Completed Certificate IV Pastoral Care; or
  • Diploma or Bachelor in relevant field; and
  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
