Meet the Moment. Make it Matter as an OHS Advisor working for the leading provider of Out of Home Care and Family Services in Victoria.  This role sits within in the Health Safety & Wellbeing Team and is part of the wider People & Culture function. 

This role will focus on providing advice to all levels of staff on matters relating to Health & Safety.  Core focus will be as the first point of contact for Health and Safety queries and developing and reviewing policy, guidelines and systems management.

Position is based in Collingwood/hybrid.

Your role:

We are seeking a passionate Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Advisor to champion workplace safety and well-being across our organisation. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and providing expert guidance on best practices within the not-for-profit sector.

Make it work:

  • Qualifications in OHS – Cert IV or above
  • Demonstrated experience in an OHS role, preferably within the not-for-profit or community sector.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication with the ability to engage a diverse workforce.
  • Advanced written skills with the view to review and develop OHS procedures.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to workplace safety.
  • Passion for supporting the well-being of employees and volunteers in a purpose-driven environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits across our sites and programs.
  • Provide guidance to staff on workplace health and safety protocols.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, ensuring appropriate follow-up and preventive measures.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and legislative changes.
  • Promote a culture of safety through awareness campaigns and engagement initiatives.

 

What you need to know:

  • A total remuneration package of $103,952.14 (this includes superannuation) paid pro-rata (93,556.93 0.9 EFT)
  • Office location is Collingwood.
  • Permanent ongoing part time position.
