Your new role

Bring your leadership and property development expertise & be part of the Uniting story to solve the housing crisis for communities in Victoria and Tasmania.

As our Head of Housing Development, you will lead all facets of housing development from inception to handing over the key. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Development of feasibilities and financial analytics
  • Investor attraction and relationship management
  • Development origination and construction project delivery
  • Packaging of investable property development projects
  • Management of partners and financiers
  • Leading the Housing Development team to deliver the development pipeline.

We develop housing projects that are socially, environmentally and financially sustainable and operate in areas of need where there is a shortage of alternative options.   We partner with governments, businesses, communities, and Uniting Church congregations to explore community needs and develop housing options.

Your skills and experience

First and foremost, you are known for your development expertise and your skill in managing complex projects and governance effectively. Your strengths include negotiation, diplomacy and the ability to ‘close the deal’ to achieve objectives and overcome hurdles. You have strong people management skills and have built a reputation for leading high-performing teams.

You will also bring with you:

  • A finance, property, economics or other relevant tertiary degree qualification.
  • Significant experience in property development governance, strategic planning and implementation, and financing structures.
  • Strong technical skills in the inception, origination, master planning, financing and funding of social or affordable housing developments at a commercial scale.
  • Experience reporting to Boards and committees and successfully navigating complex governance structures, risk and a proven ability to attract and manage investors.
  • Significant stakeholder relationship management expertise, executive team management and leadership and a proven ability to adapt communication to an audience.
