    The role is critical in providing direct consultations and contributing to the delivery of services for young people. You will work across mental health services and have the opportunity to deliver a range of complex and mild presentations.

    You will work closely and as integral part of this highly regarded team in the community and be supported by a Board approved supervisor working with external providers and stakeholders.

    The Senior Mental Health Clinician will be responsible for providing advice, managing a case load, youth engagement and promoting linkages between primary and tertiary care, vocational/educational and social recovery sectors.

    headspace provides counselling and support to young people from 12 - 25 years.  The service covers issues such as relationships, drug and alcohol, mental health, bullying, anxiety, depression, bad thoughts, and uncertainty about future plans. The centre is a safe zone for young people to drop in, check it out or talk to a youth counsellor.

    headspace Horsham is operated by Uniting Vic Tas. All headspace centres are funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. Administration of funding is carried out by the 

    headspace centre’s local Primary Health Network, in this case, Western Victoria Primary Health Network.

    Your skills and experience 
    • Tertiary qualifications in an allied health discipline (Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or equivalent)
    • Additional mental health-specific training or endorsement (for Social Workers, OTs, and Mental Health Nurses)
    • Registration with AHPRA or membership with AASW (Provisional psychologists OR first year graduates with social work will be highly regarded).
    • Experience in diverse mental health settings
    • Experience in working with young people experiencing mental health issues or behavioural challenges.
