Your new role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) Youth Worker to support young people undergoing voluntary withdrawal or seeking respite from substance use. In this leadership role, you’ll help coordinate day-to-day operations, supervise a team of Youth AOD Workers, and provide therapeutic support and guidance to young people in a safe and welcoming environment. Your skills and experience
You will bring with you:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Psychology, Nursing, or Allied Health.
- Certificate IV in AOD or completion of the AOD Core Competencies (or willingness to complete within the first 12 months of employment)
- Previous experience working with people with AOD and/or Mental Health issues
- Knowledge of screening, assessment and community-based treatment for clients with AOD and mental health issues
- Experience in developing individual treatment plans, post withdrawal and discharge planning
- An understanding of AOD withdrawal and the harm minimisation framework
- Experience in leading teams
