Your new role
The Adolescent Family Services suite of programs provides short term support to young people aged 12 to 17 years and their families who are referred by Child Protection. The program aims to strengthen the family environment and reduce the need for out of home care.
As a Senior Practitioner, you will deliver creative outreach responses to young people and their families who are experiencing complex and sensitive issues. The role will undertake risk assessments, family mediation and other supports to resolve issues that may jeopardise the young person's placement in the family.

Your skills and experience
You will have Bachelor of Social Work, Youth work or equivalent tertiary qualifications. (Tertiary qualifications at Diploma level or above will only be considered if they include units of study in case management/ casework practice and supervised practical work placements in relevant fields).
You will also have:
- Current Drivers licence valid in Victoria
- Demonstrated awareness and understanding of issues facing young people and marginalised families.
- Demonstrated knowledge of family and parenting issues in the context of adolescence.
- Proven ability to engage with young people and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to carry out complex assessments, prepare reports, and to develop Action Plans with the young person and their family
