Horticulture Crew Leader
Horticulture Crew Leader - Mornington
Citywide are recruiting for a Horticulture Crew Leader for the Mornington Open Space contract. In this role you provide leadership and guidance to the team to ensure safe delivery of contract outcomes.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead and train the team ensuring that works are carried out safely
- Plan works on a day-to-day basis
- Ensure all allocated sites are serviced and maintained in line with contract specifications
- Responsible for litter and leaf collection, weeding, spraying, mulching, pruning, manual watering, monitoring of irrigation etc.
- Machine operations and machinery maintenance
- Assisting the Horticulture team in performing works and achieving goals
- Completion of customer service requests
- Ensuring work is accurately recorded by using digital systems
- Identify and resolve day to day work problems within capability and training
- Maintain good relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Ensure works are delivered safely
- Support a good team culture through effective leadership, induction, coaching and training
- Regularly monitor performance of self and team against contract and work objectives
- Assist team with day-to-day work allocation
- Other duties as required
Skills and qualifications required:
- Previous experience in a similar environment
- Ability to work in a structured and independent manner and able to multi-task
- Experience with task scheduling software
- Strong knowledge and experience leading a positive safety culture
- Ability to effectively engage, control and maintain processes, people and tasks
- Able to manage staff performance
- Knowledge of MS packages, Outlook and other key applications
- Cert 3 Chem User, Traffic Management, First Aid
- Drivers Licence
