Remuneration: Level 6 $100k - $110 K (based on experience) + 17% Super + Annual Leave Loading

Location: Kensington, New South Wales

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold unrestricted work rights to be considered for this position.

Why this role matters:

The Project Officer plays a vital role within the Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship, delivering practical and efficient support to project teams and key stakeholders.

The position is responsible for supporting research efforts by  coordinating and supporting projects, preparing data analyses, submissions, reports, publications, developing communications, and fostering strong internal and external relationships. The role also provides essential administrative support (including research support) across key programs and initiatives to ensure smooth and effective project delivery.

The role reports to the Centre Manager, supporting the Director of the Centre.

Skills Required:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience and skill to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Experience in cancer research and research management, including ethics submissions and reporting, will be highly advantageous.
  • Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including all MS Office applications.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives, and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
