Why The Role Matters:
The Educational Content Developer (Academic Calendar) plays a key role in supporting high-quality learning and teaching across the Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture (ADA) during the University’s transition to a new academic calendar. Embedded within the existing Educational Development team, the role will prioritise calendar transition-related deliverables while contributing to ongoing faculty educational development activities to ensure integration and continuity. Working closely with academics, faculty leadership, and professional staff, the role provides expert advice and practical support in curriculum and assessment design, quality assurance, and learning technologies. The position requires strong stakeholder engagement, adaptability, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a complex change environment.
We are looking to hire three Educational Content Developers to join UNSW Arts, Design and Architecture.
Accountabilities:

- Partner with academic and professional staff to review and adapt programs, courses, and assessments for alignment with the new academic calendar, ensuring compliance with University policies and quality standards.
- Provide expert advice and hands-on support for curriculum design, assessment planning, and learning technology integration, with a focus on student-centred and inclusive approaches.
- Develop and deliver resources, workshops, and consultations to build staff capability in learning and teaching, including the use of educational technologies and Universal Design for Learning principles.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of templates, guidelines, and quality assurance processes to support consistent and effective transition practices across the faculty.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reporting for transition activities, ensuring alignment with project milestones and governance requirements.
- Support faculty BAU educational development activities, including Learning Management System (LMS) site quality assurance, course enhancement initiatives, and academic staff development.
- Foster collaborative relationships with faculty leadership, school/program teams, and portfolio units to ensure effective communication and change adoption.
- Actively participate in team planning, agile workflows, and knowledge-sharing practices to ensure integration and sustainability of outcomes.
Skills and Experience:
To be considered you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience, or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum and assessment design in higher education, including the application of pedagogical principles and learning technologies.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision in a complex environment.
- Strong understanding of learning design principles, curriculum mapping, and assessment practices, including constructive alignment.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, developing, and delivering professional development programs to build staff capability in learning and teaching.
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a service-oriented approach to delivering solutions.
- Proficiency in the use of learning management systems (e.g., Moodle) and related educational technologies.
