The Opportunity:
The Post-Doctoral Fellow (Level A) is expected to contribute towards the research effort of UNSW and to develop their research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to their particular field of research. This position is part of the project to develop high efficiency chalcogenide thin film solar cells and related tandem solar cells. The role of Post-Doctoral Fellow reports to Scientia Prof Xiaojing Hao and has no direct reports.

  • Salary, Level A - $122,592 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full Time: 35 hours
  • Fixed-term contract for 12 months
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Skills & Experience:

  • A PhD in Photovoltaic Engineering, Materials Engineering, Physics, or a related field, with research directly relevant to next-generation solar cell design and characterisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in chalcogenide thin film solar cells and tandem solar cells, spanning fundamental research, device fabrication and performance optimisation.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in the basic characterisation of compound semiconductor materials, thin film solar cell devices, including but not limited to, electrical, optical, and morphological characterisation.
  • Proven experience in developing advanced characterisation techniques for thin-film solar cells and tandem solar cells, either using existing method to characterise new properties or combined different technologies for complicated characterisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
