Senior Data Analyst- Energy & Renewables
At Scentre Group, we’re known to be a leader within retail property. An interesting part of our business is our Embedded Networks and Energy and Renewables Team, which manage the energy requirements for our destinations to power air conditioning, lighting, vertical transport, and key infrastructure. We also on-sell the supply of energy to our retailers.
Day-to-day you will be responsible for:
• You will develop and implement methods for collecting, managing and analysing data and related business intelligence capabilities
• Undertake analytical projects to answer key energy questions, and provide actionable intelligence to stakeholders to optimise and reduce energy usage
• Research electricity market and prepare competitive energy offers to customers and provide analysis on margin and profitability to internal stakeholders
• Own and operate operational processes to manage data flows on a day to day basis to support analysis and contribute to the progressive definition and automation of data processes.
• Assist the energy group in providing insights and recommendation into business improvements to support purchasing, billing, billing reconciliation, energy use and assessment of new projects.
• Drive proactive insight through data driven decision making and present recommendations that promote the more effective and efficient operation of the energy business
• Carry out modelling and analysis on large complex disparate data sets to distil business insights and forecasts
This role is permanent, full-time
What sets you apart
- 3-5 years’ experience in a data analytics field involving the management and manipulation of large complex data sets into actionable and accurate information
- Tertiary qualifications in information technology / business or a related field
- Experience processing data in large-scale environments using SQL, Cognos, TM1 and ideally R and/or Python programming and technology stacks such as AWS, Azure or Google Big query
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving
- Ideally you will have experience in analysing energy and metering data (but not essential)
- Advanced experience with data visualisations tools like Excel, power point, Tableau or NEO
