Your opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Facilities Manager to join our team at Westfield Carindale. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role where you will balance competing priorities with agility. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you’ll help oversee infrastructure management and maintenance, ensuring life safety, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and innovation—maximising the full potential of our centre.

Day-to-day you will be responsible for:

  • Support the delivery of day-to-day best in class facilities services in line with the needs of the Centre team to achieve excellence in customer experience
  • Lead our team of 2 Facilities Coordinators, providing coaching and leadership.
  • Ensuring all asset maintenance, repair and capital works, is accurate and delivered on time and budget, completed to the best possible standards by effectively managing our contract partners.
  • Supporting the development of asset life cycle plans for the centre.
  • Providing immediate response to all emergency, evacuation or other incidents within the centre.
  • This full-time role includes Duty Management responsibilities, requiring occasional weekend shifts on a roster basis, balanced with a day off in lieu.

We’re looking for a proactive and driven individual ready to grow in facilities management. Success in this role comes from hands-on experience, strong leadership, and a customer-first mindset.

  • Background in retail, hospitality, property, or facilities management, with a focus on operational excellence and a trade background would be advantageous 
  • Proven ability to manage maintenance tasks and projects efficiently, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget control.
  • Experience leading compliance and safety initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulations and internal policies.
  • Confidence in working with contractors, service providers, and internal teams to maintain high standards.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, address unexpected challenges, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
