GCP CloudOps Engineer
Our Technology team plays an essential role supporting online and physical Westfield destinations through digital platforms and infrastructure services, creating technology solutions for retail partners, supporting our people to be effective and enabling best-in-class cyber security.
With this broad remit, our Technology team has capability across almost all technology disciplines, so you’ll be part of a diverse and highly skilled team.
The role is responsible for operating and maintaining core infrastructure delivering and driving an agile, stable, and secure platform across our Public & Private Clouds. This role ensures that our platforms are scalable, secure and reliable to meeting the organisations ongoing needs. The primary focus is operations and enhancements to seamless delivery and operation of our cloud platforms, data, integration and analytics solutions, by utilising our standard assortment of tools, to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, continuous delivery pipelines, and manage code releases, across Integration, DataOps and Analytics.
- Builds automated deployments using infrastructure-as-code cutting edge technologies.
- Ensures cloud infrastructure is properly patched, monitored, and maintained.
- Monitor and analyse trends in system performance, cost, capacity and reliability.
- Implement new technologies within the Google Cloud space to improve processes.
- Build and maintain high availability systems through automation and self-service to application and business teams.
- Create and maintain operational documentation including configuration support manuals as the environment evolves.
- Uplifting governance on the GCP platform and developing self-service cost management dashboards.
- Developing and optimising continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Undertaking regular analysis of cloud workloads and optimising by providing rightsizing and reducing costs.

- Public Cloud (GCP, Azure).
- Expert in Terraform, Kubernetes
- Expert in establishing, fine tuning and utilising standard DevOps Toolchain for automation, including Version Control, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Configuration Management, Containers, Container orchestration.
- Cloud Cost Optimisation.
- GCP certified. Experience in Azure a bonus.
You will have:
- Demonstrated (5+ years) experience working with GCP and a proven track record of building cloud infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of GCP VPC, security and monitoring and experience implementing best practices.
- Good knowledge of Kubernetes, Containers, Terraform, GitHub, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Docker, Helm, Rancher and Vault.
- Proficient in CICD tools and technologies including Jira, GitHub, Buildkite, Grafana, ArgoCD and Atlantis
Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills
