We have an opening within our Westfield Albany team for an experienced Senior Risk & Security Manager. This is a key leadership role within our Customer, Community and Destinations team in NZ. This role will focus on directing the risk and security management function, risk mitigation and providing the optimal level of security and safety for our employees, contractors, retailers and customers every day.
The Senior Risk and Security Manager role is shared between owning the risk and security function in Albany and, across the region, providing regional leadership oversight and accountability of the risk and security management function and inspiring and motivating team members.
This is a full time permanent role on a roster of Tuesday – Saturday and based at our Westfield Albany destination.
Day-to-day you will be responsible for:
- Managing compliance with all security, health and safety policies, procedures and practices at Westfield Albany
- Identifying new and emerging security of risk issues related to NZ centres and working with the National Risk & Security Intelligence Team to devise innovative mitigation strategies to address issues
- Promoting a safety culture across the region, working with teams to find solutions to risk and compliance items, and contributing to the CCD Life Safety Framework
- Overseeing the regional end to end incident management process, including building capability for escalation, de-briefs, sharing learnings and trend analysis.
- Ensuring teams maintain optimal security posture and deliver on requirements of Crowded Places Strategy.
- Advocate for Risk and Security teams, creating a culture of collaboration and sharing success.
- Develop strong relationships and work with local Police, WHS Regulators, Fire Brigade and Ambulance Services to develop operational and emergency protocols
As a part of our asset team, you’ll also have Duty Management responsibilities where you’ll be required to work a late night or weekend shift (on a roster), which will be balanced with a day off in-lieu.

- Five years plus, senior leadership experience in risk and/or security management in retail property, hospitality, entertainment, leisure or services organisations
- A leadership style that is warm, approachable and with an engaging persona
- The ability to align teams and stakeholders to resolve problems and deliver results
- Confident and clear communication; and
- You will be calm and considered under pressure
Technically, you will have the following skills and experience:
- A qualification or related experience in Work Health and Safety, and Training and Assessment or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to manage incident response, reporting, authority interaction and insurance claims management
- Proven experience in delivering safety and security strategy
- Experience and technical knowledge of CCTV and Access Control systems, and visitor and contractor management systems
