Day-to-day you will be responsible for:
As a Senior Design Manager, you’ll lead consultant teams to deliver concept designs for Authority Approvals—making sure every drawing and dossier reflects our project vision, meets regulatory requirements and hits our commercial goals. You’ll also own the design journey for our large-scale residential builds from concept through pre-construction. By shaping standout, compliant designs and guiding our partners, you’ll help us unlock value, satisfy regulators, and set the stage for smooth delivery.
- Lead full end-to-end design for high-rise, mixed-use, and/or BTR residential projects using your Class 2 residential expertise, together with your strong understanding of rezonings, planning controls local authority requirements and design excellence principles.
- Draft and manage architectural briefs that balance vision, market fit and planning rules.
- Review and refine consultant deliverables—ensuring quality, feasibility and budget alignment.
- Guide the hand-over of design into early delivery, maintaining intent through construction setup
- Plan design milestones and resource needs across multiple projects.
- Lead the engagement and management of external design consultants, including architects, planners, and specialist advisors, as well as regulatory bodies.
- Chair design coordination forums—setting agendas, driving clear actions and tracking progress.
- Collaborate daily with Development, Construction and Engineering teams to keep everyone on the same page, navigate any challenges, and maintain alignment.
- Navigate complex approval pathways—liaising with councils, state authorities and specialist advisors.
You will be someone who:

- Thinks big-picture: use market and site insights to steer concept direction and innovation.
- Anticipates design risks—whether regulatory, technical or budgetary—and propose clear mitigation.
- Blends commercial and creative thinking to deliver designs that impress and perform.
