Electrical Engineer- Scentre Group

Your opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Engineering Services team.

Your key purpose as the Electrical Engineer is to represent and champion the Engineering services team as a subject matter expert in the engineering field of Electrical and Communications services for Scentre Group.

Using your great communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills to carry out the design engineering functions and support the business through project delivery phase in line with the development programme.

 Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Working with the team to ensure that design reviews and inspections are conducted, to provide compliant and quality assured services design packages in line with scope, specifications, and the relevant standards.
  • Provide timely and accurate technical advice to ensure that Electrical, Lighting and Communications systems within the retail environments are designed and delivered to Scentre Group standards and specifications.
  • Responsible for acting as a Project Engineer for the development projects, including ultimate responsibility for the delivery of all design, documentation, estimates, tender reports, administration, programming, and financial control for the assigned projects.
  • Contribute to initiatives within the team and company to support on-going enhancement of engagement and organisational effectiveness.
  • Proactively research and investigate innovation and emerging technologies to develop sustainable engineering design solutions for the business, considering capital and operating costs.
  • Keep up to date with the latest Australian standards, international standards, regulations, Best practises, and guidelines in relevance to your field of expertise.
  • Review existing systems and processes to develop new ideas and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure specifications are up-to-date and project filing is carried out in accordance with standard procedures.

 What will set you apart from the rest?

You enjoy the hands-on element of site-based construction management and your personal characteristics will include high levels of drive, motivation. You will have a proactive approach to problem solving, have solid communication skills and are able forge strong working relationships with internal and external teams.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Solid industry experience with consulting experience preferable
  • Experience in the design of the following systems: Electrical (Low voltage and high voltage systems, Communications (Fibre and copper structured cabling infrastructure), Lighting Design
  • Experience with negotiating and liaising with Electrical authorities, Telecommunications and Mobile carriers
  • On-site experience for the review of constructed systems for compliance to design specifications
  • Previous project management experience in a construction environment is desirable
  • Proficient with AutoCAD software, experienced with using Bluebeam or other PDF editors
