As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Research Assistant who will be part of a multidisciplinary research team to investigate digital wellness, particularly video gaming overuse among Singaporeans. We seek a highly organized individual with good attention to detail and a strong interest in video gaming research.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management:
- Participate in and manage the research project with the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PIs and students to ensure all project deliverables are met.
- Assist in coordinating and managing day-to-day research activities including scheduling, participant recruitment, data collection, and maintaining project timelines.
- Ensure that research activities comply with the ethical guidelines and Institutional Review Board requirements.
- Collaborate with undergraduate students who are working on their honours thesis as part of this project.
- Data Management and Analysis:
- Ensure accuracy and efficient data entry, coding, and organization of databases.
- Quantitative statistical data analysis using STATA, Python or R with survey and clinical data (including descriptive statistics, inferential statistics and regression models).
- Comply with IRB and ethical guidelines in data management.
- Work with PI and Co-Is in qualitative data analysis
- Liaise with our community partner
- Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers.
Job Requirements
- Have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, statistics/mathematics, public health, health/medical sciences-related degree, or social science-related degree. Possessing a Master’s or PhD degree will be advantageous.
- Have relevant competence or previous experience in research, writing research papers and quantitative data analysis.
- Proficiency in R, STATA, Python or another statistical analysis software.
- Knowledge of video gaming addictions, behavioural addictions, or digital health will be advantageous.
