As a Manager, Career Coach, you will play a dual role in Industry Engagement and Student Development. You will build strategic relationships with organisations to promote the benefits of hiring SITstudents through the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP) and full-time roles. You will also work closely with students, primarily from the Chemical disciplines, to guide them in their career planning, readiness, and job search strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Industry Engagement & Business Development:

  • Proactively identify and engage with organisations to cultivate long-term partnerships that support talent acquisition and development through the IWSP.
  • Develop and implement targeted strategies to increase student IWSP opportunities within the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering sectors, both for IWSP and full-time employment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan and deliver employer engagement initiatives such as career networking events, recruitment talks, and industry needs.
  • Support wider career readiness initiatives, including event planning, data tracking, and advocacy to promote student career outcomes.

Career Coaching:

  • Provide customised 1:1 and group coaching to the students on career exploration, resume writing, cover letter development, job search strategies, and interview preparation.
  • Assess individual student needs and guide them toward suitable career resources and opportunities.
  • Deliver career briefings and workshops to students while working closely with targeted student management committees to align on and support career-related initiatives
  • Partner with SIT faculty to embed career planning within the student experience.
  • Leverage career platforms and data systems to track student progress and employment outcomes, ensuring continuous engagement and follow-ups.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Vice-President, Centre for Career Readiness.

Job Requirements

  • A recognised degree in Engineering; candidates with a background or experience in Chemical Engineering will have an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of relevant industry experience in the Engineering sector.
  • Strong passion for supporting student development and career success; prior experience in career coaching or mentoring will be a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, employers, and faculty stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and adaptable to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
