Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY:

Manages the overall ride and show operations and/or the overall park operation. Responsible for overseeing a section of attractions in one of the UO Theme Parks (USF or IOA) and the respective Managers overseeing those attractions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages all aspects of the operation of all attractions of a park (IOA or USF). This includes show quality, guest service standards, Team Member satisfaction, cleanliness, facility upkeep, safety, training, efficiency, budgeting, and responsible for the performance of approximately 500+ hourly Team Members in addition to directly overseeing select Managers of that park.
  • Responsible for opening or closing the attractions department and/or acting as park Officer of the Day depending on business need.
  • Coordinates the recruitment, hiring and training of exempt staff.
  • Oversees select Attractions Managers by providing feedback on performance, giving direction on how to handle, solve and prevent situations and developing communication, decision making and reasoning skills.
  • Creates development plans and ensures the Managers are meeting all objectives and accountabilities.
  • Provides input and/or direction for Assistant Manager, Supervisor and Team Member disciplinary actions and collaborates with HR team when necessary for guidance.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the safe operation of the attractions including regulatory training and compliance, incident reporting, and reviewing ride surveillance.
  • Responsible for monitoring industry trends and ensuring compliance with UPR and ASTM and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Updates and enforces company policies and procedures and departmental training and safety. This includes developing, writing and updating operating and training manuals, producing spot talks, documenting and addressing infractions.
  • Monitors and approves Tech Services and Engineering programming and procedural changes.
  • Analyzes daily/weekly flash reports, ride operation statistics, downtime reports, and GSAT reports to stay in tune with the Guest experience and establishes strategic plans based on observed trends.
  • Manages labor, non-labor and special event budgets and looks for ways to improve overall efficiency of attractions operations.
  • Monitors and adjusts labor hours and budgets according to attendance levels, operating needs and other variables.
  • Manages planning and execution of marquee events and productions throughout the year.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SCOPE:

Oversees all GSAT, TSAT, safety, and financial aspects of Attractions Operations. Oversees all labor and non-labor spending and well as consumable inventory associated with 3D glasses, children’s play areas and guest interactive tools.

EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Communications or Business Administration preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 7 or more years’ park operations experience with 5 or more years’ Supervisory experience required;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • NAARSO or AIMS Certification preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of ASTM, ADA, and OSHA standards helpful.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Some travel required for certifications and UPR conferences.
