JOB SUMMARY:
Performs financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting, as well as oversees accounting process, for Universal Orlando's Merchandise Revenue Operations, through a range of applications including journal entries, report writing and review, variance commentary and partnership with operators. This position is a manager by title; however does not have direct reports and is an individual contributor with broad scope of responsibility.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete and/or audit financial reports that summarize divisional financial comparisons in the areas of labor, non-labor, per cap, revenue and VOP.
- Guide the operating division management in the development of annual operating budgets and quarterly estimates (LE’s). Evaluate all costs incurred throughout the year, looking for ways to reduce cost and find efficiencies.
- Maintain an active relationship with Operating division. Prepare and present weekly variance reports with Operators. Analyze performance metrics and identify areas to improve. Recommend solutions to manage within budgets.
- Oversee completion of all month-end duties for assigned areas.
- Process all invoices, complete necessary journal entries, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Prepare and coordinate special project/event budgets. Make recommendations regarding operational decisions relative to those projects. Provide assistance with automation of department processes.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Master’s degree is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years relevant experience required in accounting or finance related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in accounting and/or financial reporting preferred (including journal entries, month-end close, P&L reporting, financial analysis and metrics reporting)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Proficiency in SAP a plus
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Infrequent local travel. Long distance travel not required.
