Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing the day-to-day interactive process related to reasonable accommodation requests for Team Members. Additionally, will serve as a liaison between the Team Members and key partners (including HR Business Partners, Health Services, Workers Compensation, Park Management, Benefits and third-party leave administrator) to oversee the coordination of reasonable accommodation requests. This position also works to ensure compliance with applicable leave and accommodation laws and maintains employee leave and accommodation files and documentation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drives the interactive process for all reasonable accommodation requests. Collaborates and communicates with internal (including Management, Health Services, HR Business Partners, Legal) and external (including Leave Administrator and Workers Compensation) partners, as needed.
  • Processes, and tracks the day-to-day reasonable accommodations requests for Team Members in coordination with third party leave administrator. Reviews process with leave administrator to ensure compliance with applicable leave and accommodation laws, including FMLA, FEHA, USERRA, and ADA.
  • Works with HR personnel for processing and tracking of all leaves of absences, including leaves for Disability, Workers Compensation, Parental, Personal, and Administrative.
  • Acts as point person for Team Members with inquiries about leaves of absence (non-medical) and reasonable accommodations. Educates Team Members on reasonable accommodation topics and empowers them to become self-sufficient navigating resources with third-party leave administrator.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to direct reports related to their career goals. Motivates staff to accomplish company goals. Builds bench strength within the operational division by identifying training and development opportunities.
  • Provides back-up coverage and support for HRBP and/or Employee Relations (Open Door) team as needed.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Human Resource, Psychology or Management required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience with knowledge of accommodations and disability principles or 3 years accommodations and disability-focused experience required.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Schedule flexibility with availability to work on weekends, holidays, or evenings, if needed.
