JOB SUMMARY:

The Technician is a key member of the UPT Asset Management team, assisting with many aspects of the hardware asset lifecycle including receiving, inventory, shipping, e-waste, and disposal. The Asset Management Technician will utilize established documentation, procedures, and available inventory management and ITSM service management applications to complete daily, weekly, and quarterly objectives and assist with RMAs, order fulfillment, asset tagging, and physical & digital audits as needed. The Technician will be required to maintain detailed records and to effectively communicate with fellow team members and partners.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for receiving, physical inventory, asset tagging and shipping of serialized and non-serialized IT assets.
  • Assist with warehouse logistics including daily and weekly order fulfillment, equipment deliveries and collections, and regular audits of physical inventory.
  • Responsible for preparing and processing assets for repair or disposal including warranty verification, RMA submission, removal of tagging or branding, and creation of bulk e-waste requests.
  • Attend regularly scheduled team meetings and appropriate collaboration sessions with UPT and business partners; regularly review team metrics and reporting for awareness and measurement of key business objectives and service level agreements.
  • Participate in regular training and compliance sessions to ensure accurate processes and procedures; and ensure a safe working environment for team members.
  • Assist with reviewing and writing process and procedure documentation.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED is required.
  • Technical school or Associates degree is preferred.
  • Military classes or equivalent training.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ year in asset management, inventory management, or warehouse logistics with an understanding of ITSM/inventory management and discovery tools;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.
