JOB SUMMARY:
Assists with the management of all Marquee Events and other projects as assigned resort wide. Including but not limited to: HHN, Holidays, Concert series, Mardi Gras etc., from design and production through post.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting the Production Manager with the planning and execution of assigned projects including pre-production, advancement, rehearsals, production and strike, and providing communication with all necessary counterparts within Universal Orlando. Provides guidance and oversight to the Production Stage Managers, Assistant Stage Managers, Coordinators, Performers, and Technicians. Assists in preventing/resolving operational and team member relations issues. Encourages and mentors the development of their team to help enhance/improve job performance and team member satisfaction.
- Assisting the Production Manager with the creation of and/or managing of production schedules, budgets, staffing plans, rental and/or purchasing agreements.
- Assisting with the implementation of the strategic plan for the enhancement and improvement of the assigned project, while maintaining adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Ensures that all team members attend mandatory training classes.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:
This position will oversee two to three stage management teams, each containing a stage manager, assistant stage manager and multiple coordinators. Collaboration and communication with other departments and divisions such Technical Entertainment, Art and Design, Entertainment Operations, Event Operations, Security, Legal and Marketing and Sales will be key to success in this position.
EDUCATION:
- High school degree or GED required.
- Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or University in theater or TV/Film Production preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Basic technical entertainment knowledge required while a strong technical knowledge or skills are preferred.
- 3 - 5 years entertainment experience in a professional entertainment or theme park environment.
- 3 - 5 years experience in a management or supervisory position required.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to function in a fluid environment are required.
- Familiarity and prior exposure to standard and multi-faceted entertainment offerings preferred.
