Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for overseeing the operation of Health Services. Ensures the department is meeting the required standards of guest satisfaction, team member satisfaction and financial goals. Ensures the medical care meets the standard of care set forth in the UO Medical Standing Orders and that all policies and procedures are adhered to.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises and oversees the daily operation to ensure proper staffing, employee workflow, capacity, efficiencies and guest services are being met. Performs coverage specific to Health Services, responsible for overseeing the operation, responds to guest and operational issues, and communicates with various partners.
  • Responsible for developing, coaching and counseling Lead and hourly team members. Coaches and uses counseling forms to document and maintain safe team member actions in accordance with UO policy, department SOP’s and Medical Standing Orders.
  • Provides guidance and direction to Health Services team during emergency situations. Responsible for overseeing all guest and team member medical treatment according to Medical Standing Orders. Responsible for all team member and guest transports, assures all guest and team members are referred to the proper level of care.
  • Focuses on guest and team member satisfaction. Ensures that each team member is greeting and interacting and assisting guest while maintaining an efficient, safe and pleasant environment. Ensure that TSAT and GSAT initiatives and programs are in place to keep the workplace fun while increasing overall job satisfaction and efficiency. Responds to guest comments.
  • Responsible for labor standards, projects labor needs, and explains shortages and overages to Managers. Mitigates overtime and projects shortfalls. Performs administrative duties to include timekeeping, ensures performance evaluations and disciplinary actions are completed in a timely manner and department statistics and other related duties.
  • Responsible for the quality of Health Services team member documentation for both guests and team members.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SCOPE:

Responsible for the overall operations and functions within Health Services. Primarily responsibilities include team leadership, managing labor and non-labor budgets, communication with team members using active listening, problem solving team member concerns.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school.
  • High school degree or GED is required.
  • Technical school: 2 years or equivalent.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-3 years Emergency, Ambulatory or pre-hospital management experience required,
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Florida Registered Nurse or Paramedic in good standing. Florida Driver’s License. Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support Certifications. Theme park experience preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, professional emails and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Emergency health assessment and intervention.
