JOB SUMMARY:
Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of department and employees by overseeing the day to day operation. Responsible for specific aspects of events by creating pull sheets, diagrams and assigning service staff. Ensures that equipment is pulled, events are set-up and serviced. Responsible for breaking down of catering events as instructed by the Catering Managers. Ensure exemplary guest service through all forms of banquet service, such as buffet, plated, carving stations and bartending.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures exemplary guest service during events and through all forms of banquet service including: buffets, plated, carving stations, bartending, running food, replenishing product and supplies in accordance event standards. Performs walk through of event areas to ensure area is free and clear of catering equipment.
- Responsible for specific aspects of events by creating pull sheets and diagrams and assigning service staff. Ensures that events are properly equipped and executed by pulling, transporting, setting up, breaking down, cleaning, organizing and returning equipment to designated storage facilities in accordance to event standards and the BEO instructions.
- Maintains positive guest satisfaction by answering questions, accommodating special requests, appropriately handles to complaints to the guest’s satisfaction and/or solicits assistances from the managers.
- Assist with training new and current employees. Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation Report to support managerial documentation. Informs employees of current and new company policies and procedures. Observes and directs staff member compliance with wardrobe and grooming standards. Communicates performance and behavior standards and expectations.
- Provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
2-3 years external catering or banquet service experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Class D Florida driver’s license required.
