Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY:

As a key member of Parks Controllership, this position plays an active role through all stages of the accounting process including close processes, technical accounting, consolidations, control maintenance and oversight, and financial statement creation and analysis using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Key contributor to the monthly and quarterly close process control maintenance and oversight including reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations, policy issuance and oversight, investigating variances to expectations, user access reviews, and accounting error root cause analysis and implementation of financial controls
  • Provide insight and executive presentations to company leaders to ensure they have the most up to date and reliable information to make the best decisions possible
  • Record and report financial transactions and prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss and subsidiary statements
  • Assist with NBCUniversal corporate reporting by compiling, reviewing and analyzing requested financial information
  • Lead and assist in ad hoc projects designed to improve processes within the finance organization while also seeking to create buy-in and build consensus among stakeholders
  • Assist with researching and documenting technical accounting considerations and conclusions
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s and/or Masters degree in accounting

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years professional working experience;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.
