JOB SUMMARY:
Oversees event planning and operations for both theme parks and CityWalk. Directly Oversees department Supervisors and SAE Supervisors and responsible for providing daily direction to hourly and non-exempt staff. Manages all day-to-day operations and event operations supporting the generation of high revenue and profile events, while ensuring high levels of guest service at all times. Uses analytical skills to ensure that assigned areas are meeting departmental standards for guest & team member satisfaction. Must be an effective communicator with a proven ability to relay relevant information in a timely manner. Requires strong executive presence with global and quick decision making abilities in addition to strong partnerships skills with multiple departments.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must maintain a physical presence in the field during Event execution. Maintains a constant awareness of client and guest needs, guest and team member safety. Evaluates operating requirements and has a strong knowledge of Kronos, ability to adjust labor, non-labor and special event budgets as required. Continuously strategizes ways to improve overall efficiency of Event Operations department.
- Creates performance standards and policies for Event Operations. Manages supervisors and hourly team members by providing feedback on performance, giving direction on how to handle, solve and prevent situations and developing communication, decision making and reasoning skills. Ensures high levels of guest service are maintained at all times. Monitors performance of all team members to provide coaching and feedback where necessary to consistently raise employee satisfaction levels within the department. Ensures all team members receive proper training and development. Focus on initiatives that boost GSAT, TSAT, and the guest experience.
- Manages, strategizes, and forecasts event operations support for all resort events. Manages partnerships with Marketing, Public Relations, Sales, Catering, Operations, Production, Entertainment, Tech Services, Merchandise and Foods in developing event operational plans. Focuses intermediate short term planning (0-8) weeks) and constantly looks for opportunities to reduce event costs, promote collaboration and minimize any negative guest impacts.
- Plans for and ensures that assigned personnel, event locations and materials are in complete readiness. Assists with developing labor budgets, has a strong working knowledge of Kronos and works with the Supervisors to ensure appropriate staffing utilization, the efficient execution of events and appropriation of inventory and equipment. Ensure that training programs are properly maintained and updated.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:
This individual will be responsible for execution of Events within the department of Event Operations within the Park and Resort Division of Universal Orlando, and may be scheduled to open or close Event 10 duties weekly. This individual will manage a team that supports Park & Event Sales and all Comcast and NBC supported internal initiatives. This person is responsible for the intermediate term planning (0-8 weeks) and operation of a high profile events and productions and activities with a non-traditional impact that support NBC Universal and Comcast.
EDUCATION:
- High school degree or GED is required;
- College degree is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 - 5 years of supervisory experience required
