JOB SUMMARY:
Acts as a liaison between Technical Services and Universal Creative and Global Attraction Programs Teams. Assists Teams and ensures complete oversight of the design, construction, build out and operational transition of all new attractions and major modifications to ensure that Technical Services requirements are incorporated. Manages the integration of Technical Services team members into the new attractions/major modifications. Manages a team of people responsible for all administrative functions related to Technical Services and new attractions/major modifications. Ensures all areas of responsibility are in compliance with ASTM F-24 guidelines as well as original manufacturer’s requirements. Responsible for building the Pro Forma for new attractions. Facilitates the hiring and training of new employees for new attractions/major modifications. Responsible for warranty contracts creation and implementation on new attractions. Responsible/Signer for the Close Out process of every ride and show contract on a new attraction/major modification for UO/EPIC.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Acts as a liaison between Technical Services and Universal Creative and Global Attraction Programs Teams. Provides project management support of specific work coordinated through Technical Services department. Provides documentation review and assurance of maintenance requirements for new attractions and major modifications. Assist in the oversight of attraction construction, facility infrastructure, and opening of new attractions and major modifications, ensuring a smooth transition to the operational teams. Responsible for all associated maintenance and upkeep of the new attraction and major modification through the transition to the operational teams.
- Assist with the building of labor and non-labor budget requirements, providing input for staffing needs for all Technical Services departments. Manages the Tech Services implementation plan as written during the planning phase of the project. Manages on-boarding process of new technicians ensuring safety and attraction equipment training requirements are met. Maintains budget by balancing routine, project, and repair costs within allotted budget. Requests expense and capital project funding for work that is needed in area of responsibility to maintain capital assets. Responsible for assuring the new attractions and major modifications follow ASTM and manufacturing requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring that the team is properly supported to ensure positive results with employee satisfaction with the company and the management team that supports the front-line staff. Oversees all major modifications to the attraction through opening of the attraction, ensuring all Engineering modifications are properly documented and communicated. Manages all labor administratively including performance evaluations, CMMS entry and training compliance.
- Responsible for developing, administering, updating, and maintaining a comprehensive preventive/ predictive maintenance (PM) program and (PQS) training program using information provided by Universal Creative, Global Attractions Group, Project Vendors, including reliability initiatives. Responsible for the implementation of standard operating procedures and safety procedures for new attractions and major modifications.
- Responsible for the development and standardization programs which influence new construction and equipment purchases including materials, equipment, and spare parts. Ensures proper spare parts are available for use so no attraction downtime is incurred from not having proper spare parts. Responsible for the Close out/Warranty process.
- Performs some travel obligations as necessary to support the new attraction project.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- High school degree or GED is required; Project management experience is required.
- Technical school is preferred.
- Associate degree is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 9+ years theme park maintenance experience required, with 7+ years’ supervisory experience included.
- 5+ years theme park project management experience required.
- 3+ years of Manager, Technical Services is preferred
- ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
