JOB SUMMARY

Supports project teams, Creative Studio, and/or Engineering team with specification, bid/award, design, production, installation, and acceptance testing of Ride and/or Show systems, to include but not limited to, Audio, Special Effects, Projection, Lighting, Set/Scenic, Props, Show Action Equipment, Animated Figures, Ride Mechanical Systems, Ride Control, or Show Control Systems. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides engineering technical (calculation, design, drafting, research) support to the Ride/Show teams.
  • Reviews and/or produces a portion of documentation related to software design and architecture to ensure alignment with deliverables specified in the scope of work. This includes drafting design specifications, technical requirements, hardware procurements, system architecture diagrams, and project roadmaps. Actively supports the entire development lifecycle. 
  • Edits and updates Ride/Show engineering specifications as specifically assigned by Ride/Show engineering management in support of Software architecture development.
  • Assists Ride/Show team in managing vendors through the process of bidding, designing, manufacturing, testing, shipping, installation, start up, and commissioning of advanced hardware systems.
  • Reviews, edits, or develops test protocols, procedures, and plans. Executes witness or approve testing and test results as assigned and authorized by Engineering & Safety management.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

A successful candidate would be able to perform the following to include but not be limited to:

  • Ability to create and fine-tune GPTs for various tasks, including natural language understanding, conversation modeling, and leveraging the OpenAI platform or other AI APIs for advanced AI capabilities.
  • Ability to design and implement AI systems in Python or C++
  • Ability to support integration with cloud-based and on-premises AI infrastructure, optimizing workflows and ensuring seamless operation with existing systems.
  • Participate in research and development for new AI technologies, including generative models and agentic systems, to improve guest and operational experiences.
  • Comfortable working in a non-routine environment with frequently changing situations.

EDUCATION  

Bachelor's Degree in applicable technical field required (examples include, but are not limited to, Control Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, System Engineering) or equivalent demonstrated skill and experience; Advanced Degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

0-1 Years: Experience in technical/software engineering roles, preferably in entertainment or theme park industries, supporting software integration and/or development required (examples include, but are not limited to Python, C++, AI, and Unreal development) or similar experience in related technical field. Technical experience within the entertainment/theme park/software development industry required. Any experience in Theme Park development, construction, show and ride systems design or fabrication is preferred.
