JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for Installation, maintenance, repair, and enhancement of hardscape elements, ensuring they fulfill both aesthetic and functional standards. This role requires proficiency in various materials, including cementitious, epoxy, resinous, MMA, and acrylic chip applications, as well as sealers and stains. The focus will be on maintaining high-quality standards for our hardscape and walking surface throughout the resort.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install new concrete by first calculating the material requirements. Measure the area to determine the quantity of concrete, color additives, and stamping materials needed. Proceed to install forms and reinforcement, followed by pouring the concrete using the necessary tools. Ensure to screed and level the surface appropriately. Apply any desired finishing edges or textures to the concrete. Apply caulking to control joints.
- Apply finishing stamps, including the use of release agents, and firmly press the stamping tools into the concrete.
- Apply various finish topcoats, including stains, epoxy, resinous coatings (such as polyurethane or polyaspartic), to include rubberized & quartz systems applications, and methyl methacrylate (MMA), along with broadcast flakes.
- Review and comprehend design plans or blueprints that illustrate the themed finishes, ensuring the final product is consistent with the overall creative vision. Conduct inspections and evaluate the condition of exterior / internal hardscape. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including the materials utilized.
- Collects and organizes the necessary information, tools, and materials required to complete assigned tasks. Maintains a clean and safe work environment by properly disposing of used tarps, tools, and materials, and storing equipment in the designated storage areas.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Technical school or associate degree with emphasis in Civil engineering or Art and Fabrication.
- Concrete and coatings certifications are preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years general construction, and experience with cementitious work; including but not limited to; Pouring, screeting, repairing, staining, sealing, and knowledge of how to use stamps, color matching, and forms to replicate cementitious-themed finishes required;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
