JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible to strategize, develop, direct and implement the Environmental, Health & Safety internal and external audit processes for UDX owned and operated sites (both US and International) in accordance with regulation and international consensus standards. Responsibilities include management (including quality control) of documents and records, conformance with established EHS and assurance processes and practices, monitoring prescribed controls, communicating objectives, management of third-party audit vendors, responding to emergent issues, and effectively using a range of EHS tools and practices to aid the business to mitigate risk, reduce incidents and drive conformance in all areas of EHS. Partner with EHS Support functions (Construction and Fire, Environmental Affairs, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Operations and Training) to gain understanding and conformance with these elements.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct the ongoing implementation of the EHS Audit Management process by developing and executing audit strategies for each site based upon an identified risk priority; inclusive of auditor selection, schedule, auditor assignment, audit execution, finding and corrective action review, validation, approval and communication plans and budget management.
- Through an understanding and interpretation of US and International regulation and consensus standards, strategize, develop, document, implement, and continually improve an EHS Audit Management process inclusive of the Audit Plan to be implemented at all UDX sites (both US and internationally).
- Conduct and facilitate audits as determined by the EHS Audit Plan. Review, analyze, interpret, and make determinations that audit results are accurate and correct, validate recommended corrective actions, facilitate timely audit report reviews, and communicate results timely to Executive EHS leadership.
- Interpret site performance and trends to perform a risk assessment resulting in a prioritized risk profile on at least an annual basis. Provide routine reports for performance inclusive of risk assessment results, trends and corrective efforts within the business. The profile will be utilized to schedule audits, hazard management program review/update, EHS Operational team focus, and associated action plans.
- Manage the cross-park audit process across multiple divisions to include scheduling, auditor selection, criteria selection, execution of the EHS aspect of the audit where appropriate, facilitation of all aspects of the on-site audit process, and management of all associated reporting.
- Support sites globally with Comcast Global Audits to include participation in interviews, provision of documents and records, leading site responses to Management Action Plans (site-dependent),
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree is required – BS/BA in Safety, Occupational Heath, and/or Environmental Discipline or otherwise related field.
- Required: Possess or have the education and experience to meet testing criteria for a Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA) issued by the Board for Global EHS Credentialing or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) issued by IIA.
- Preferred: CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE;
- or other equivalent internationally recognized certification within the EHS discipline.
EXPERIENCE:
- Hands-On Auditing and Audit Management Experience: 7+ years’ of experience required for EHS compliance and management system auditing and audit management.
- Regulatory Understanding and Interpretation: Experience understanding, interpreting, and applying applicable EHS regulations, both US and international, to various work environments.
- Management System: Direct day to day oversight of EHS assurance program maintenance, strategic planning, scheduling, internal and external communications, performance measurement, conformance validation, EHS Standards implementation, audits, corrective action plans, training and presentations, liaise with cross functional business lines;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
