JOB SUMMARY:
Performs work for the UDX Operational Alignment & Compliance team by supporting Universal Horror Unleashed (UHU) and Universal Kids Resort (UKR) operations and project teams with creating, editing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support documents for various operating departments. Works with the various operating groups to capture processes and ensure consistency in practices between Destinations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reads and interprets technical, training, and procedural processes. Organizes and groups similar sections of content. Rewrites content as simple and straightforward text. Generates sections of standard operating procedures consistent with established templates.
- Solicits documents for review and approval by department subject matter experts. Ensures documents comply with all department, UDX, ASTM, and manufacturer standards / procedures.
- Proofreads and corrects Standard Operating Procedures for grammatical, typographical, and compositional errors adhering to formatting standards and guidelines. Publishes as directed and in accordance with UDX and department-specific standards.
- Assists with monitoring and supporting the Standards & Procedures (S&P) system, other OAC systems, and associated workflow processes, including system / template training and support for destination-specific Gatekeepers, Approvers, and Document Writers while monitoring compliance with the S&P program and related UDX Global Policies.
- Assists with various alignment and safety projects to ensure compliance with UDX and Destination-specific policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- High school degree or GED is required.
- Associate’s degree (AA) or higher in one of following areas preferred: Information Management, Business, Technical Design, Technical or Business Writing, and/or Hospitality Management.
EXPERIENCE:
- 1+ years theme park technical and/or operations experience required.
- Database management and/or writing experience preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Must be proficient in MS Word & Excel including components that are required to institute document sharing, internal linking, and computation.
- Must have keen attention to detail.
- Must have proficiency in grammar and syntax.
- Must be able to experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Should be familiar with theme park functions and operations.
- Preferred to have proficiency or familiarity with MS SharePoint.
- Preferred to have some proficiency with other software programs including MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, Visio, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Preferred to have experience with data management.
- Preferred to have a working knowledge of technical terms as they relate to facility maintenance activities, some architectural and engineering activities, general design activities, and certain theme park design and operations activities.
