JOB SUMMARY:
The Finance Manager for Global Parks Merchandise will be a key member of the finance team, responsible for providing financial analysis and support to the merchandising organization. This role will partner closely with merchandising leaders to support strategic decision-making, optimize product profitability, and manage the financial performance of our consumer product lines. This position requires a strong understanding of financial planning, forecasting, and analysis, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cost Centre Budgeting, Forecasting, & Support: Own the annual budget process and monthly forecasting cycles for the merchandising function. Work closely with cross-functional teams In Orlando and LA as well as 3rd parties to gather data and ensure accuracy. Supports Senior Leadership on Annual Budgets, Monthly / Quarterly Operating Forecasts / Reviews and Long-Range Strategic planning across Brands, Categories, Retail locations and other initiatives.
- Management Reporting: Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining comprehensive reports and dashboards that provide key insights into business performance, enabling leadership to make informed decisions based on accurate and timely data analysis. This role involves collecting data from various sources, performing data cleansing and manipulation, and presenting findings in a clear and concise format tailored to specific audiences.
- Product Profitability Analysis & Inventory Management: Evaluating and reporting the financial performance of individual products and product lines. Develop and maintain models. Identify opportunities to improve margins and profitability. Support buying decisions with financial analysis. Collaborate with supply chain and merchandising teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize obsolescence. Analyze inventory performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Perform and facilitate financial validation processes on revenues and costs, identify key financial risks and opportunities, analyze variances between actuals and forecasts, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions.
- Teamwork & Collaboration: Build strong relationships within Merchandising, Revenue operations and other cross-functional teams. Collaborate effectively to achieve department objectives. Partner with merchandising teams to evaluate new product opportunities, promotional campaigns, and other strategic initiatives. Provide financial modeling and analysis to support decision-making.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 5+ years relevant work experience (in Consumer Products / Retail / Parks environment or Global Media & Entertainment industry a plus), in a finance function.
- Solid accounting / finance background required.
- Advanced Excel skills (ability to create financial models from PowerPivot and Data Modeling) required.
- PowerPoint skills, including ability to "tell a story" using PowerPoint.
- Experience with financial systems such as SAP, a plus.
- Qualified accounting and finance skills (i.e., certified accountant, Mastery in business administrations), a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Takes initiative and follows through on projects.
- Must be accurate, highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as being a team player in a fast-paced environment, working with a variety of personalities.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments and work well under pressure.
- Proactive approach to problem solving including analytical and information system skills.
