JOB SUMMARY:

The Program Manager will be responsible for planning and execution of multiple technology initiatives for Universal Parks & Resorts. This role will be a mix of hands-on program and project management across multiple initiatives. This individual will be responsible for providing supervision, cross-functional leadership and strategic direction on all aspects of the program.

The individual will focus on developing and managing program plans defining the implementation of application and infrastructure needs aligned to multiple business groups. This includes Sales & Marketing, Revenue Operations, Merchandising, Food & Beverage, Finance, and Human Resources. The Program Manager will be responsible for working with Marketing Technology and Data & Analytics teams to ensure alignment on proposed solutions, and will serve as the point of contact on programs, initiatives, and established budgets; in addition to creating project plans, resource plans, risk identification, risk mitigation, and timelines. This role also comprises of international project work across Universal’s Digital Platforms including, but not limited to, the international parks.

The Program Manager is essential for execution of the Technology Program. Universal invests millions of dollars in teams consisting often of more than 100 professionals to deliver valuable technology solutions for the company. The Program Manager keeps team Project Managers, Scrum Masters and their teams on track and directly impacts Program success.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop & manage project plans, high-level milestone, GANTT charts, resource plans, and supporting budgets
  • Oversee processes, PI Planning, and Program execution including creation and ownership of timelines and budgets. Facilitate changes to plans and the impacts of those changes, including budgets
  • Provide input to avoid Program bottlenecks. Escalate impediments and manage risks by providing mitigation recommendations
  • Communicate Program Information, status, and key health metrics to stakeholders. Facilitate inter-team communication and resolution of Program-level dependencies
  • Run status meetings and/or scrum team ceremonies (daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc. as needed)
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or higher required. Information Technology or technical degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five+ (5) years of experience as a Senior Project Manager or Program Manager.
  • Two (2) years of experience supporting/ managing multiple Project Managers or Scrum Masters simultaneously
  • PMP and CSM certs are preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This role is responsible for working across many departments and locations of Universal Parks & Resort’s. The role requires an individual that can work effectively & positively in a highly complex and dynamic working environment. They will be asked to balance a broad set of priorities and ensure HR system and the related integration supports the business.
