Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY:

Provide analytical decision-making support for Universal Destinations & Experiences leadership in order to drive significant value through increased efficiency or incremental revenue that positively impacts the company's bottom-line. Utilize a combination of quantitative methods and experience in the areas of operational planning support, capacity/demand analysis and productivity/process improvement to drive OCF improvements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of industrial engineering and business analytics to departmental projects and initiatives in order to ensure utilization of appropriate unique or derived methodological approach, measurements, tools, and objective, structured analytic techniques (e.g., probability and statistics, process flow analysis, queuing theory, mathematical optimization, computer simulation, etc.) to determine root causes, engineer solutions, implement, and institutionalize change.
  • Obtain data using database querying tools and develop and conduct field data collection studies in support of sophisticated modeling and analysis methodologies.
  • Assist in the development of business cases and presentations to all levels within UDX -- from frontline stakeholders to senior management and executive leadership
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Required:
    • High school degree, or GED
    • Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Decision Science, or a closely related field.
  • Preferred:
    • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Decision Science, or a closely related field of study.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Required:
    • Minimum of 2-4 years of applied industrial engineering and operational analysis, or equivalent experience
  • Preferred:
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience performing operational analyses for theme parks, resorts, retail/dining/entertainment venues, etc.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Experience conducting field studies/data collection efforts and analyses, including familiarity with operational planning, capacity/demand analysis and modeling techniques.
  • Knowledge regarding and experience using data querying and programming tools (e.g., SQL, Python, etc.), business intelligence/dashboarding software tools (e.g., Power BI, etc.), and statistical modeling software applications (e.g., R, SPSS, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills including spreadsheets, databases, statistical and graphics software.
  • Demonstrated superior analytical ability, conceptual thinking and creative problem solving.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to partner with others to handle multiple priorities in a challenging operational environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under changing conditions.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) heritage and a commitment to change and excellence
  • Willingness to support a 24/7/365 Universal Destinations & Experiences (UDX) operation, which includes periods of high demand (weekends, holidays, etc)
