JOB SUMMARY:

The Park Operations Technology team is responsible for the day-to-day sustainment of software applications leveraged by different departments across Universal Orlando Resort. The Supervisor role requires using structured problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and sustain large scale business applications and services. This position requires the ability to quickly understand supporting business processes, requirements, and translate them into system designs with level of effort that will support the objectives. The Supervisor should also have a solid understanding of application support and team development. The Supervisor must have the ability to lead a technical team and a project to completion.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the day-to-day functions of their assigned team. Reports out to all parties of the tasks, issues, and projects being worked on.
  • Lead the team in all aspects of development including performance evaluations, development plans, training, etc.
  • Ensure that proper documentations of all new tasks are clear and communicated in a timely manner. Works with the various Teams to ensure that timelines, issues, and updates are communicated accurately.
  • Enforce UO policies and procedures including Change Management and audits. Disseminates new information or tasks assigned to the team.
  • Works with leaders and Project Managers to develop project schedules, resource plans, and budget forecast for all related projects and other activities such as sustainment and software deployment, customer integration and hyper care support.
  • Produces and distributes performance metrics and weekly updates to leadership.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Management is required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ equivalent work experience in IT Software Application Support. Previous supervisory experience preferred. 3+ years’ technical experience including:
  • Solid understanding of theme park experience principles and concepts
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and operating systems with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Understanding of MS SQL Always on Architecture
  • Strong software application knowledge, preferably in Ticketing/Point of Sale, as well as vendor-supported applications;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience
