Universal Horror Unleashed is a terrifyingly unique experience that will bring haunts to Las Vegas year-round. Located at Area 15 is the heart of horror – we would love to have you haunting alongside us! With the nature of this experience comes a unique working environment. The working hours will be unique, typically spanning over late evenings/nights and weekends (holidays included). JOB SUMMARY
Supports management in directing and coordinating the costume activities for Universal Horror Unleashed. Leads the Dressers with assigning daily tasks and maintaining training, inventory, materials, and supplies. Responsible for leading show preparation and strike, dressing Performers, assisting Team Members with wardrobe needs, pre-setting costumes, laundry, and maintaining daily costume procedures. Maintains the integrity and creative intent of each costume in alignment with Universal standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs opening and closing duties, including but not limited to, issuing and pre-setting costumes for Performers and wardrobe items to Team Members with the highest levels of customer service, assisting Performers before, during, and after the show with costume changes and troubleshooting. Maintains preparation routines before, during, and after the shows, and during open and close. Gathers Performer scheduling to facilitate the Dressers’ costume preset process and monitors and facilitates Public Relations and special event requests.
- Cleans and maintains all costume pieces through hand washing, machine washing, spot cleaning and sending out for dry cleaning, ironing, and steaming. Monitors dry cleaning and repair orders to include checking orders in upon return from vendor and notifying leadership of discrepancies.
- Observes and monitors costume and wardrobe appearances for quality control, notes, and relays observations to Costume leadership. Communicates and relays costume wear and tear with Costume Team to ensure sustainable use of costumes. Performs basic repairs with hand sewing as instructed by leadership in alignment with Universal standards.
- Anticipates costume needs and initiates timely solutions by effectively communicating concerns to Costume leadership. Maintains equipment and supplies and works with leadership in the research and purchasing of departmental needs.
- Assists in fittings, set-up and tear-down, and Performer measurements and documentation. Assists in the cleanliness, safety and organization of the work area.
- Assists in the setup of costumes for new characters or shows/projects/events, including but not limited to, gathering and labeling costume pieces and incorporating new costumes into the current process of preset, issue, and cleaning.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required.
- Knowledge of fabrics, textiles, and fibers as well as their clean and care methods.
- Ability to perform basic costume repairs.
- Ability to provide strong customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills, highly organized, and able to prioritize numerous tasks.
- Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule based on business demands, work well under pressure, and adapt to changes quickly.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Nevada state certifications are required, including OSHA 10 certification.
EDUCATION
- Associates, Technical School, or Bachelor’s degree in Costume, Fashion, and/or Theatre is strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of experience as a costumer, wardrobe dresser or attendant in live theatre, film, and/or television is required, 6+ months of experience providing work direction is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
