JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager, Communications, is an experienced, dynamic and strategic leader responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication plans in support of the Enterprise Transformation Management Office – both local and global in scope - that help drive understanding of Transformation initiatives, align with the company’s business objectives and that advance understanding and awareness of the company’s vision and ambitions. This role will be dedicated to Transformation efforts and be responsible for developing clear messaging, compelling content, organizational updates and storytelling, and ensuring a consistent and effective flow of information across the organization.
The Senior Manager will also work with peers to contribute to a global editorial content calendar and help key executive leaders with communications content, as needed. This leader is a visible role, a strategic thinker, strong communicator and trusted partner who is adaptable and supports open communication and trust. The ideal candidate will have a passion for business and change communications, experience managing events and roadshows that engage target audiences and someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. To be successful in this role, communication must be resourceful, collaborative and able to quickly learn the business, its audiences and their needs. Additionally, the candidate must be able to work under tight deadlines and exercise sound business judgment and decision making.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communication Planning and Execution
- Develop and implement communication objectives and plans, inclusive of strategies and tactics, that support business priorities and initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and messaging.
- Work closely with ETMO, HR, leadership, and other departments to ensure a cohesive and compelling internal storytelling approach.
- Craft clear, engaging, and effective communication content and messaging that resonates with various employee audiences. Work to translate complex ideas into new and engagement formats.
- Continuously measure and assess the impact of communication initiatives, using insights to refine strategies and improve effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities and benchmark best practices to expand the reach and resonance of communications.
Content Development, Storytelling and Engagement and Events
- Lead distribution of content and ensure messages are delivered effectively, using the right channels and formats to reach key audiences.
- Proactively identify, source, and develop stories that reflect Transformation wins for use in various mediums and formats
- Engage with employees at all levels to uncover impactful narratives that enhance internal brand awareness and foster a sense of community.
- Develop, review and edit content, ensuring messaging is clear, balanced, engaging, and effective. Provides timely and constructive feedback to internal stakeholders.
- Support the planning and execution of Transformation-related internal events, town halls, and leadership roadshows to enhance employee engagement and alignment. Contribute to company-wide events.
- Identify and work with outside vendors for content production, as appropriate, and ensure delivery of aligned to scopes of work.
Client Partnerships and Cross-Company Collaboration
- Fosters effective relationships with our key client groups and divisional partners. Leads cross-functional task forces, as identified, that serve to collectively elevate Transformation communications initiatives. Identify opportunities for enhanced collaboration with divisional partners.
- Provides leadership, support, and functional level subject matter expertise
- Provide best practices and communication toolkits, as needed, for leaders. Leverage change management best practices.
Measurement & Analysis
- Evaluate and monitor data (email, social media, web platforms; survey results, etc.) and develop action plans to address the analysis. Identify opportunities to increase the capture of metrics to further enhance the analysis of the impact of communications content and messaging.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years’ experience working in a Communications role is required, with 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Graphic design and ability to translate written content into visual formats a plus.
- 1+ year of experience at Universal Orlando is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
