JOB SUMMARY: Intern will assist the Controls Engineering team and support day-to-day efforts within Tech Services Engineering. Through documentation the intern will develop an understanding of presentations created from an Engineering and/or Business aspect. This will require the ability to properly document engineering systems that can be understood by a variety of audiences from Hourly to Exempt Team Members. Intern will learn the fundamentals for Control Systems from PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, Servo Motors, etc.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops Engineering drawings/documentation.
- Creates PowerPoint presentations of technical data and for business planning.
- Supports the day-to-day efforts within Tech Services Engineering including generating Code Changes, Acceptance Test Plans, Code Compares and device comparisons.
- Develop the ability to properly document engineering systems that can be understood by a variety of audiences from Hourly to Exempt Team Members
- Learns the fundamentals for Control Systems from PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, Servo Motors, etc.
- Develops an understanding of Engineering commissioning support including troubleshooting, test and adjust period and proper change documentation
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Sophomore or above.
- Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.
- A transcript is required upon application.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Preferred majors include: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
- Preferred coursework completed: Math, Electrical Systems, Engineering Design, Electrical Circuit.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, and varying Controls Software (Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Beckhoff, etc.).
Please note the following:
- This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2026.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
- All of our internships are paid, and you may also qualify for housing financial assistance if applicable. The Recruiter will provide specific eligibility details.
