JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the development, delivery, facilitation, and measurement of regulatory Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) training for Universal Orlando. Trainer facilitates site-specific safety, environmental, and health training per OSHA, EPA, ANSI, NFPA guidelines or per local regulation for all Team Members. Administers technical training and performs operational evaluations related to facility safety standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivers and facilitates structured site-specific initial and recurrent training and development programs in support of UO’s established EHS safety and regulatory training goals and initiatives. Conducts operational evaluations for Facility, including initial Team Member observations for heavy machinery (Aerial Work Platforms, Powered Industrial Trucks, etc.), Fall Protection, Lockout/Tagout, and Confined Space Entry, as well as CPR/AED and First Aid. Conducts time sensitive awareness and continual training, when necessary.
  • Researches, designs, and develops initial and recurrent training programs, curriculum, and materials. Ensures training content is updated, relevant, and supports current UO and/or global EHS Standards. Incorporates measurement and assessment tools to support all training. Analyzes trends, identifies gaps, and uses metrics to develop targeted training plans based upon findings, incident, or operational change. Creates and monitors knowledge assessments using various systems. This includes grading and providing information to Team Members, as needed. Works with the Facility EHS team and front-line management to evaluate effectiveness of training. Participates in periodic reviews of training materials, processes, and techniques, updating as required by changes in regulations and/or global EHS Standard, operations, equipment, or incident.
  • Performs administrative duties to document and track completion of training in prescribed EHS application and/or learning management system. Monitor and measure Facility training conformance to aid in schedule performance, logistical coordination, and resource planning to achieve established EHS safety and regulatory training goals and initiatives.
  • Participates in periodic field observations to provide coaching or reinforcement in support of UO EHS Standards, policies, and procedures in cooperation with Subject Matter Experts and departmental management to all Team Members.
  • Takes action cohesively and in alignment with the whole of the site EHS function. Communicates a single EHS vision and mission with one set of established goals and objectives to assigned division, shift, and/or assignment. Supports and collaborates with all EHS peers related to resources and communications for clarity of message with business partners.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • High school degree or GED is required;
  • Associate’s degree is preferred;
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred - Safety Engineering/Management, Public Health, Environment and/or Biological or Educational Sciences

Other:

  • OSHA 10/30 hour General Industry and/or Construction Instructor preferred;
  • Fall Protection Competent Person preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of experience in safety, technical and risk analysis training required; combination of education and experience may be considered as equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency in focused safety programs: Heavy Machinery (aerial work platforms, powered industrial trucks, etc.), Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, IDLH situations, and hazard analysis.
  • 1-3+ years of Instructional Design experience also preferred.
