JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for creating visual layouts, renderings and graphic concepts and design presentations in support of UO merchandise and food revenue generation while maintaining and enhancing overall presentation standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates visual layouts, concepts and renderings of fixtures, graphics, signage, display windows and any other digital presentations needed to support Revenue Operations business needs.
- Format and design the look and create print ready art and files for events, programs and movie releases that are supported by the Food and Merchandise divisions.
- Responsible for creating and executing full presentations for all annual capital requests.
- Draft and update scaled floor plans of all retail venues to be used for floor sets, remodels, displays and seasonal over lays.
- Develop digital menus and animations for special events, food venues and varied promotions.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:
Development and execution of concepts and creative direction for retail visual merchandising concept design efforts, project content, quality, and guest experience. Oversees and manages the design and construction effort for all retail & food merchandising projects within Universal Orlando Revenue Operations. Also manages the resources, finances, and schedule of that scope. Work with external clients and make direct decisions related to project estimates and timelines. Responsible for hiring contractors and purchasing supplies and equipment to complete projects.
EDUCATION:
- High school degree or GED is required.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2+ years design experience for themed entertainment, theme parks or related industries (i.e., advertising, graphic design, video game development, etc.); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledgeable in a wide array of media, including print, broadcast, online, etc.
- Experience managing new store build-out projects and store renovations.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Minimum of five years of experience in high volume merchandising, ideally in an attraction, hotel shops and retail environment is preferred.
- Preferred retail experience.
- Must provide portfolio of previous design work.
- Understanding of design applications including In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of the printing process and photography.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
